Business Advisory
- A professional services firm was facing some key decisions as to how to grow its business. We developed and conducted a tailored client relationship review which enhanced the firm’s understanding of its clients’ current and emerging needs. This enabled the firm to increase profitability through changes to strategy, business development, relationship management and service delivery.
- A Magic Circle law firm wanted to improve its approach to lateral partner hiring and integration. We interviewed a range of recently hired partners globally which identified several key areas where the firm could enhance its approach to new partner integration, enabling lateral hires to become more profitable, more quickly.
- A global top 10 law firm was not achieving the success it sought from its lateral partner hiring which was a key plank of its growth strategy. An internal review, based on a series of interviews, identified capability gaps in the team leading partner recruitment, shortcomings in the recruitment handling process and, significantly, broader cultural issues which were impacting both relationships with candidates and with external recruiters. Our report made a number of recommendations including the appointment of a global head of partner recruitment who subsequently implemented our key recommendations.
- We were engaged by the Board of a global executive search network to review individual businesses around the world and advise on their specific strengths and challenges and the changes required to ensure long-term success. As a consequence, the Board was able to make key interventions and to introduce best practices around the network.
Coaching services
- We supported a business leader to enhance their success through a combination of coaching and consulting advice: a constructive and critical business friend to help maximise their performance and that of their business.
- A partner in a leading law firm was considering how to make the most of his remaining years with the firm and to consider ‘what next?’. We coached him to identify the legacy he wanted to create for the firm and how best to deploy his talents to do this; we also helped him explore the areas he would find rewarding after retirement and to plan a smooth transition over time.
- The COO of a major law firm wanted help to develop her career within the business. We helped her maximise her impact within her firm, to consider competing priorities and to identify how to create a role which would meet her personal and professional ambitions and those of the firm.
- A long-term advisory engagement with an executive search firm helping to take the business to the next level: including coaching and supporting partners and key team members, advising on strategy, marketing, business development, remuneration and team performance issues. As a result, the firm’s revenues have grown, exceeding budget year on year.
